Thinking About

Starting a Foot Zone School?

Before applying for NFZA recognition, please review the school guidelines below.

These ensure your training program meets the standards recognized by the Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL).

NFZA-Recognized School Requirements

Affiliation & Certification

The school and its graduates must be affiliated with an organization recognized by the Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL)

Defined Scope of Practice

Clearly outline your Foot Zone curriculum’s scope of practice.

Anatomy & Physiology

Include a comprehensive A&P course.

Instructional Hours

Provide a minimum of 200 instructional hours, which can include in-person, video, or online formats.

Certification Exam

Require students to pass a standardized exam.

Code of Ethics

Adopt and enforce a student and graduate code of ethics.

Graduate Oversight

Maintain oversight to ensure graduates follow legal and professional standards through active NFZA membership.

Continuing Education

Offer or require ongoing education, either through NFZA conferences or your own programs.

Getting your school recognized by the NFZA is a simple, guided process:

1. Apply

Apply/Pay by submitting your school information and selecting the NFZA Recognized School payment option.

2. Review

Our team reviews your application to confirm your program meets NFZA standards.

3. Approved

Once approved, you’ll receive access to your NFZA member portal with your official credentials.
